Blue on the trail, riding last of course.
For some time I have been "hiding" Blue here at the Rescue in hopes of keeping her for our team of lesson and trail horses as one of my "own". As much as I do not want to give up this wonderful horse whom I have come to love deeply, we have found that Blue comes up sore in one shoulder when ridden more than 2 1/2 hours on rugged trails. We camp frequently and ride some long days, and she needs a lighter use home than I had intended for her. Blue has logged many trail miles with us and is an experienced camping horse. She is a very nice horse for an advanced beginner or better rider. She has no spook to her, but is a touch herd bound and likes to stay with her group. Blue prefers to ride at the rear of the line, as she gets nervous that the horse behind her is thinking about giving her a chomp on the rear. Blue camps, crosses water, swims, is traffic safe, and has seen the train up close and personal many times. She has also performed at public events in our Drill Team, and has competed in Judged Trail Rides. Blue will ride out alone with a strong rider, but it takes some force to convince her she is going.
