Kadobi is at full weight, and his rehabilitation is complete. He has begun his under saddle training with trainer Carey Reed. Kadobi is now halter broke, leads and ties, loads, tacks, and stands for the farrier and Vet. He also blankets, with reservation.
Kadobi is being started using the principles of Natural Horsemanship. Here he is practicing yielding to soft pressure on the lead line, which will eventually translate into rein pressure. We have found that John Lyon's methods work great with him, where he is rewarded for the positive, and there is no reaction for a negative response. Kadobi is very sensitive to criticism, and likes to know when he's getting it right. He tries hard to please, but does not learn as fast as some horses.
Here, Kadobi is ridden at the walk and trot. This was only his third or so ride and he's doing well!
And finally, right after the previous video was taken, Kadobi headed out on his very first trail ride around the farm!
Adoption Fee currently $650, may increase as training progresses.
