Kadobi

kadobitacked1.jpg

Kadobi is at full weight, and his rehabilitation is complete. He has started his ground work in preparation for his under saddle training. Kadobi is now halter broke, leads and ties, loads, tacks, and stands for the farrier and Vet. He also blankets, with reservation.

Kadobi is being started using the principles of Natural Horsemanship.  Here he is practicing yielding to soft pressure on the lead line, which will eventually translate into rein pressure.  We have found that John Lyon's methods work great with him, where he is rewarded for the positive, and there is no reaction for a negative response.  Kadobi is very sensitive to criticism, and likes to know when he's getting it right.  He tries hard to please, but does not learn as fast as some horses.

Here is a video of Kadobi being introduced to the saddle and tacked for the FIRST time.  He was wonderful, and very ready for this step in his training.  Our patience has paid off!

And a short video of Kadobi on the lunge line with tack for the first time. He earned many carrots.

Adoption Fee currently $250, will increase as training progresses.
