Kanin has been returned to the rescue and is currently in evaluation before being formally offered for re-adoption. His prior adopters had some behavior issues with him under saddle. We have found he is very hard to catch, but a quite willing partner once you have him!
Kanin is a 7 year old Belgian/paint Cross gelding. He and his brother, Kadobi, were rescued from a kill pen in PA with the help of the FOB's. Both horses have an unknown past, and Kanin can be skittish and requires a confident handler. Kanin relies on his handler/rider at all times for assurance, so he is NOT FOR A BEGINNER.
Kanin is solid on his basics, but needs practice with tying, the farrier, and being caught. He is riding dependably at the walk and trot, and is developing a better canter transition. Kanin requires an active and focused rider, and does not do well with "passengers".
Kanin seems to enjoy hard work that has a purpose, so his training will be directed for advanced work such as Team Penning, Roping, and Competitive Trails.
