Mattie

Mattie is approximately 14 years old, and was an Amish plow horse.  Rescued from New Holland on May 10, 2010, she arrived at the rescue in a load of horses with Shipping Fever.  Mattie herself was never ill, but her pasturemates are all affected, so she remains in an extended quarantine.

We don't know much about Mattie yet, as we haven't been able to really work with her.  What we do know, is she LOVES to be scratched all over, likes to play in water, comes when called, and adores being sprayed by the hose on a hot day.  A very affectionate, very outgoing mare who acts half her age and romps and plays like a four year old!
